Default Hardy Bikers Rideout 2 - Confirmed details thread

Please do not dilute this thread with more useless posts. Take it to the megathread.

This thread is for details which are confirmed, sorted and practically set in stone. No fooking bull$hit.

The meet:
  • The rideout date is set at the 21st of February 09.
  • The meeting point is Lancaster-Moto services. Junction 32-33 M6 Northbound.
  • We are aiming to depart at 11:00. Please arrive in plenty time if you are wanting food there. It would be prudent to aim to arrive at about 10AM.
  • After the rideout we will be staying at Ambleside Backpackers

Booking:
  • So far there is still room at the inn. PM me if you want space. I still reserve the right to ask for a deposit or payment up front.

The ride:
  • Please read this and be familiar with it.
  • Everyone should please be familiar with the second man route marking system
  • Riders not confident to mark a junction should not ride directly behind the leader. Move over when safe and allow someone else to take the "2nd man" position. Do not under any circumstances just "follow the leader" with no other marker in place as this will result in people going all over the place at random.
  • If you get left as a marker unwittingly, or there is any doubt as to whether people know where they are going at a junction, turn or roundabout, wait for the Tail-ender to pass and rejoin.
  • I apologise if I am teaching any grandmas to suck eggs but people getting lost will result in delay, and serious reductions in available pub time.
  • This will be a ride of steady pace, no heroics please. None will be left behind with the marking system used. Do no feel pressured to keep up/stay ahead.

I may also need some volunteers for a quick recce. Also possibly a leader or TEC. (I may do one or the other)

The Sunday:
I will not be organising a proper route as such as generally people are heading in different directions. Might be heading for a bit of a spin somewhere though. If anyone else wants to make arrangements, please feel free!
