I've got a ye olde Raleigh Ravine that I bought secondhand in 1996. A couple of years ago I was wondering about getting a new one, though not ridden much lately (6 year old daughter so it's coming back now). I have pretty well never really maintained it, but I noticed the wheels were a bit wobbly so stripped and regreased the bearings, same for the pedals (don't all pedals wobble anyway?), and a bit of TLC to unstick the left shifter so I can use 3rd again. New brake blocks as they had fossilized, and new tyres as the sidewall rubber was literally crumbling and starting to show the canvas - goodbye Panaracer Dusters! It feels great, I'm gonna get another 20 years out of it!
