Have you analysed how you are using your current lens when it producing images you are not happy with?

As said above, primes are great for that sharply focused image, the background blurring leaving the view the concentrate on the intended content.

I have a Nikon 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens on my D5500, nice and sharp images. But I am still learning how to get the best out of the camera and kit lens
