thanks everyone for all your replies I appreciate it, I will go with Haslemere for now as they are nearer and it will be a pleasant ride there but not too far on squared off tyre, hoping they will say the chain is fine for a few thousand miles once adjusted.

At the moment my new baby is parked just outside the patio windows so I can see it from the lounge and smile at the fact that I have finally bought a real bike - in gorgeous royal blue - perfect for a birmingham city fan - two great results in one month!
