Perhaps the lie was the claim about the amount of money. The bus said "We send the EU £350 million a week"
The fact is we don't.
What we do pay some is paid back, or pays for things we would otherwise have to pay directly for.
I imagine the EU paid for negotiating trade deals. Not any more.
The sad thing is that almost a half of the population still believe the bus claim despite it being disproved. Even the Leave Campaign Director admitted it, as does Farage, as does Boris, was untrue but also says it was probably what swung the vote.
I'm sure no one ever said the NHS would get £350 million every week.
