I think the original bulbs are 45/50w though I stand to be corrected. HAving said that I changed the lamps on my SY in about the first few weeks. There are rumours that you can brown the plastic lens on the SV if you uprate the lamps, though after 4 years I have not noticed any change.

To be honest, it is probably only worth doing is you do a LOT of nightime riding, otherwise you won't notice much difference
