I see this claimed frequently. Searching for Germany's export markets it keeps coming up that the UK is typically their 5th biggest market (2018 ) after USA, France, China and Netherlands. Even then, the UK represents only about 6% of their export trade value, so while we are a very significant market, they are not exactly heavily reliant on sales to us. Sure they wouldn't want to lose any but it'd have to be a big percentage drop to have significant impact.
Several of the other EU countries are not far behind.

I've also seen it said that the UK is BMW's biggest market. Again, according to
https://www.statista.com/statistics/...-of-bmw-group/ the UK is fourth after USA, China and Germany, and the UK represents 9.6% of their sales. They certainly wouldn't want to lose all that market, but even if UK sales halved it would be manageable (compare to the reduced sales for VAG after dieselgate for example).
