Thats similar to my method Furry , I have a set of pin punches and select one to fit the size of the head of the screw/bolt intended for being undone . Fit it over the top and a short sharp whack with a medium sized hammer , this shocks the thread a little and loosens off any corrosion between the steel thread and the Ally hole . Had to do this quite a lot on my apprenticeship with substantial sized threads right down to BA sized threads ....... worked a charm every time .
There is no need to take a running shot with the hammer , it`s the "Short Sharp Shock" , just a bit harder than a tap that does the good work .
