MOT, Check history online
Looking at the MOT fails and advisories on my Vectra I sold 5 years ago I did well to sell it when I did. It's only done 108,000, and I sold it at 4 years old and 80k miles because I felt it wasn't aging well and was about to start costing me money. By contrast the Toyota Avensis I replaced it with has 100,000 miles now, hasn't cost me a penny and still feels like new.
