Is it my imagination? I don't think the Duke rider is backing the bike in on power at all - I think he's just locking the tyre with rear brake. He seems to take several corners with the clutch pulled in....you can see/hear the revs drop to almost nothing - then you hear the revs suddenly rise as he releases the clutch and snaps the throttle open. If he's in the right gear, then he should be maintaining some several thousand revs - especially if he is spinning up the rear.
I don't doubt he knows how to handle the bike though!
