Default Bar ends question

Hi all

I'm getting some replacement bar ends for my curvy s.

The bar ends fit with a screw into a headed hole on the clip-ons.

However looking around for replacements the only ones I can find are the rubber bung and nut type ones...don't want to get OEM ends, they bug me for some weird reason!

I was looking at the Oxford standard ones which are below;

http://www.oxprod.com/index.php?pg=3...d=26&pid=67&p=

Just thinking would I be able to take the bung and nut off these and fit them into the clipons?

Cheers

It doesn't look like they would fit flush if you did as they have what looks to be about a 3mm resess. You could always just hack that off aswell.
The only other concern would be if the size the the hole in the bar ends is big enough to pass the bolt through.
You would also need new bolts as the standard bar end bolts aren't threaded all the way to the nut.

Yep those ones will not fit, your need a flat bar end weight. Oberon might do some that fit, though if you get anything lighter you will get increased vibration through the bars.

I always get mine for my Suzukis from here http://www.louis.de/_408c2d90835acd1...zeige=0&page=2
I have no problems with them at all. All German items have 2 year warranty and are generally decent quality to last the 2 years. The exchange rate isnt best to buy away from UK right now but if anyone does see anything Im sure we can sort it out.

Cheers for the help everyone

Yeah the bar ends are off already and the right one was pretty seized... after about an hour and a half of swearing I drilled the screw out which was pretty easy, should have done that at the start heh heh!

After some more looking about I think I'll go for the Motrax DHM ends. Should hopefully get my new r6 throttle tube on soon now!

Cheers again

LMAO I did something silly the other day.
I bought some nice Renthal Bar ends to put in as my originals where seized and I knew I would trash them getting them out.
Found out like above that there is just a screw hole! Got the old ones out and used the Allen bolts from the new ones to re-fit my old bar ends. I'm just going to re-paint and fill them so they look decent.

Bare in mind that if the bar ends you do fit are lighter than the originals your clip ons will vibrate more. If you want to test this go out without them in and see how annoying it is :P

You want the bolt on type, common to most Suzukis from 1996-2006. Probolt do a selection of colours if you are into that, or you could try the R&G one's which I find crash test well....
