Default Thinking of my first rideout?

Well im only going to be on the CG for another month or so, but im considering going on my first rideout before then and i think i come under this section (or the essex lounge).
Will i be out of my depth in london? I'm feeling more and more confident on the bike and i think i am ready for a rideout.
Also, would i be able to keep up?
If its suitable for me, whens the next rideout?

to be honest it depends on so many factors, a brisk rideout you don't stand a chance of keeping up, and would be flogging the guts out of a CG even then.

However if it's a properly organised rideout it goes at the speed of the slowest rider so no one gets left behind.

Of course you have to bear in mind whether others on their own time want to bimble around (wouldn't be the first time that's happened though).

I'd suggest you get to a meet and ask.

Cheers Mark.

I wouldnt want to go if i would be holding people back.
But for a ride in london, would this be mainly residential and built up areas with speeds of 30 and 40? I think the only time i would struggle to keep up is on DC's with national speed limits, and country lanes where i lack the experience to get round quickly more than the speed.

well unless you mean riding to or from somewhere, only true weirdos like me go for a ride threw the traffic for fun, so it wouldn't be actually "in" London.

Cheers Mark.

Most of the Soho Massive rideouts take place outside of the M25 because its not much fun round town - also a nightmare to keep people together with the Traffic Lights etc.

However if you want to get along to Soho on Friday, let me know and I can come meet you somewhere along the A13 and guide you in.

Depending on when I am leaving, I may also be able to guide you home, although I am sure that someone will at least get you to the A13.

David

Its not a ride-out, just a meet up and have a chat session.

Usually people get there frmo 7ish - so I see there being a clash with your working

Well, if the route is well organised, Im sure me and maria wont mind coming along on a rideout with you and some other Soho'ers. We ride at a pretty sedate pace anyway and I dont do much overtaking really, and I'd have no problems or worries hanging back for a less experianced rider on a slower machine

As for getting to soho...again, I'd be happy to guide you in. But it gets a bit difficult keeping together, what with the way the traffic lights synch and stuff
