Default Cold hands

Currently, I have semi-functioning, wrap-around heated grips. The semi-functioning nature means that I can have one warm hand and one frost-bitten hand which isn't ideal- I prefer having both hands cold! I'm also not mega keen on the way they make the grips fatter and therefore the levers further to reach.

So...

Heated grips or heated gloves?

And which ones?

And why?

Heated gloves all the way! Best thing since sliced bread in my opinion. Heated grips will only warm up the palms of your hands, whereas, heated gloves heat up the whole of your hands - especially, the parts of the hand that gets most of the wind blast. Heated grips do not solve the problem of wind blast. KLAN are selling their old stock on the cheap at the moment. IIRC £65?

Heated gloves in your case. Grips are good for there handy ease of use nature that it doesn't matter what your doing or what you had on when you left for home. But they can leave the ends of your fingers and thumbs missing out on the heat. I have had guards so that takes alot of the edge away, but some people don't want that look on there bike.
Gloves while taking a little bit longer (few mins) to setup will give you a nice all over heat that the grips just can't give.

Sarah. Listen carefully, I will say this only once. As a perpetual sufferer of cold extremeties with being a sufferer of raynaulds:

GET THE GERBING HEATED GLOVES.

You will never regret it and wonder why the hell you didn't do it before.

That is all.

Oh and to add.

Gerbing gloves are guaranteed for life. If ever the electrical elements in the fail, they will be repaired or replaced for free, for the life of the gloves. This covers all the electrical parts of the gloves including the harness.

Heated grips and handlebar muffs. I recommend symtec grip heaters (check the link in my sig down below to see how I installed them)

I'm with the dump dweller on this one. I have some and they are f'in brilliant. How I managed before I don't know. Pricey but worth every penny - and much easier to swap between bikes too!

Battery heated gloves are okay if your going for a walk to town. Rubbish if you are riding in cold temperatures at 50+ miles an hour. They don't produce anywhere near enough warmth to battle against the wind chill.

+1
Gerbing gloves
NB they come quite large IMO so I use XS sized ones. You're welcome to see/try them if we ever get a GM meet going
