Default Tales of unrestriction! A summary for the future.

wow i gave this quite a cool title, hopefully it will live up to it.

i felt there are so many posts saying "how does the sv feel restricted" and "how will it feel when i get past restriction period" if it gets enough peoples posts, i'd think a sticky would be good.

well a lot of people have served their time and are now full power, myself for one.

so in here, post up how long you kept it restricted, your feelings whilst it was restricted, and then how and what you felt different when it became full power.

I'll start off,

I have a K5 Sv650s and I kept mine restricted for the two years as i knew with my luck, if i took the chip out, i'd get booked.

During the restriction i never felt "i need more power" i could still overtake, hit an indicated 110mph (private road) and as some people saw in my thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=119383) it even enough to keep up and overtake a lambo countach!!

i loved the bike and its handling whilst restricted and was never disappointed yet did wonder how will it feel when it becomes double the power.

My restriction ended on the 6th feb 2009, yet cause of snow didn't get out to play till a few days later.

now its full power and have done a few out and about trips but no country runs yet, so can't comment on overtaking but i know it will be better.

the easiest way to describe it full power is up to 7k its the exact same bike, feels the same, sounds the same, yet once you go above that it feels like its supercharged or has NOS.

for those who have seen fast and the furious it feel like when they hit the NOS button!!

All i can say is,

A) i'm glad i kept it restricted during my time
B) It is a great bike for restricting
C) Its an even better bike when full power!!

All the best

Adam

I disagree on the bike fealing the same till 7k... My thoughts where that the bike at a lot more poke, throtle responce was better and generally faster. It does feal good when you take it out tho dunt it

The Pointy unrestricted is like a drug compared to it restricted. 2 years ago if i had an unrestricted pointy i'd probably had a few more bumps. I can see it's relevant but it lasts too long i feel and now leave me open to ride anything i want.

Up to 7kprm feels that bit stronger and past it is like an addiction and you just want to stay there.

I know what you mean it feeling the same up to 7k, but after that as you say it just surges on. I loved it, the extra power is great and the added noise is great too. You'll be kicking the lambos asses from now on!!!
