Hi guys, should be an easy question to answer, but basically im not sure if i have a sv650s K3 or K4. Its an 2004 plate, but i thought this was just the year it was registered and the paper work seems to suggest it is a 2003 model.
I recently ordered a rear hugger, it had 2 fitting holes on the RHS. Whereas my bike only had one fitting for the brakeline braket on the swing arm. I have since re-modeled this side and fits perfectly. So in short which model has just the one screw hole in the RHS swing arm for the brakeline, K3 or K4? Many thanks in advance Tom |

Find the VIN plate on the side of the frame, RHS if I remember correctly??
The tenth digit of the frame number is the model year, 3 = 2003, 4 = 2004 HTH ![]()

Wow thx for your speedy responce.
Had a look at the VIN No. and the 10th digit is actually a 0. Does this mean its a 2000 model, with an 2004 plate? seems strange, but plausable i guess. Thx again Tom Last edited by tommoxon; 09-03-10 at 02:00 PM. |

Hmm, maybe not on the UK bikes then - definitely won't be a 2000 if it's a pointy model
![]() edit: maybe try this: http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/vin

Small differences between the K3 & K4. It the rear subframe straight, or does it kink a bit. Does the fuel light just go solid, or does it also flash?

Orrr if you can compare your bike to one on the net, k3's have a higher back end, look at the diagonal bar on that the passenger footrests are located on, this bar is steeper and more exposed for the higher back end of the k3 (silver bike) but more horizontal for anything later (dark bike)

Also the k3 has a U shape kicker on the sidestand, k4 onwards just has a spike stiking out. Picture posted is definitely a k3
