Default Accumate permanent connection

My CBR has one of these http://www.accumate.co.uk/im020006.htm

Apparently fitted to all new Honda's now by the dealer, as I'm going touring I was wondering if I could use this to my advantage and get a cigarette lighter adapter for it?? Then I'd be able to charge kit off the battery when travelling. Obviously not when stopped. Or is that not a good idea?

That will be fine. I got one for mine. It's only the same as adding a cigarette socket directly to the battey that plenty of peeps have done. You can get an actual cigarette socket that plugs into the end of the permanent lead and the permanent lead already has a fuse in it.

Been doing that on the Triumph for 7 years before I had a problem with the battery.
Every time I put the bike away in the garage I just plug the accumate charger into the socket, resulting in a constantly fully charged battery, especially good in cold weather and seems to prolong the battery life.
I have the phone socket for charging the phone from the bike which is extremely handy when away from home for any extended time.
Big +1 here

Any links to the lighter socket I'd need to get? Can't find any accessories directly from accumate or is the plug a standard type? All I'd need would be an iPhone charger, mini USB and a 12v standard charger

Try this - I think it's what you want.
