Default Midlands Seaside Trip?

Looking for a few ideas and suggestions of tried and tested trips out east from the Nottingham area, (ish).

Where, on the east coast, would you head for the beach and an ice cream?

What roads would you recomend? Places to go?

Was thinking Skegness or Mablethorpe...?

Any suggestions welcome. If the practice run goes well, i may look to sort a rideout for the org later this year.

Please let the discussion commense and not another thread death.

Cheers all.

Mr Binky sir,
Without offending anyone, i went to mabethorpe 2 years ago and thought what a shiite hole it was, its a bit run down now imo.
It took me 3 hours nearly in the car with the fastest route so a bike route involving twisties and stops would take ages imo.

Anderby Creek is nice... it has a decent car park, public toilets and an ace little cafe, but not alot else.

I can recommend this route from wragby as friggin awsome... the problem is to get there is pretty boring, I'm sure there must be a semi decent route though.

Hunstanton is always full of bikes, and not a bad place to visit. Not a huge lover of the seaside myself, but Sunny Hunny is one of the better places.

Skeggy and Mablethorpe are both rubbish, but a decent ride can be had in that direction. I'll have a think about possible routes.

Ended up going in the car, so couldn't really sample the roads too much although they looked promising.

But you're right, Skeggy is a bit of a hole.
