Well i got an electrical problem with my bike so need some of the kind assistance from the tinkerers around here.
Before anyone says it, my reg/rec is fine, for now. ![]() Any way, my problem is when starting the bike i get nothing on the push button, i diagnosed the fault down to either a faulty wire or a bad connection pin on my starter relay. Should the pins that the small power block plugs onto be loose, as in at a slightest touch bends away? I'm guessing the answer is no and that is my problem as the bike also cuts out when running (if i get it started that is). If is it the starter relay will this also stop charging back to the battery by any chance as well? And will the starter from a 99 sv650 fit a 2001 curvy? Cheers all, Collis |

Not quite sure which connector block you mean but all contacts should be tight and clean.Anything loose is likely to give trouble.

Once the pin shows signs of being loose, snapping wont be far behind.

i have stripped the suzuki loom down to use on my race bike and the starter relay gets the power to activate from the kill switch which gets its power from the main ignition live from the fuse box orange i think which is switched from the main ignition switch the main constant live on the bike is the red wire that runs from the starter relay upto the key switch
the starter relay power goes via a diode on the subframe near the recitifer there is also a wire link on there check that is not loose also check the microswitch on the clutch lever (you can bypass this by soldering the 2 wires together or link the 2 yellow and black wires on the front subframe loom at the black and yellow multipin connectors) i pull the black connector on the starter relay to save my battery from draining everytime i finish a track day. you say about the pins being loose as long as they are locked into the connectors they should be fine check your clutch switch pull the connector off it and bridge it over or do the above if the connector on the relay is loose it will stop the battery from charging but will also stop the bike from running it should click into place get a meter on the relay and check ou have good continuity from the main battery terminal to the pin for the red wire on the connector if in doubt get the suzuki relay to f**k and use a durite relay cant remember the durite part number but i use their relays for my launch controller and to bypass my limiter hope this helps |
