Painted Numbers Under Engine:
I have noted 4 numbers in paint on the underside of the engine on a 99 curvy. Does anybody know what they are for? It is the original engine.

Does it tie up partially with the VIN?------OR ENGINE NUMBER

No do not think so. Just a 4 numbered sequence, checked 2 bikes and they both have them?

I also have numbers in white paint on the underside of my 99 curvy engine, no idea why there there though?

Doubt it. Bike was 1 owner and only done 2500 miles.

Mine has some white numbers written on the underside of the motor too. Can't remember what it said but I just assumed it was when it had a main service or something. Not sure..

It's usually a batch ident or similar for production, nothing significant.
