Default Seat foam not sticking - what glue did you use?

I've used self-adhesive race seat foam on my fibreglass seat unit. After not too many miles it's detaching itself from the areas where it was moulded round the contours of the seat. I now have a big pad with wings!

The adhesive is no longer sticking to the foam (although it's well stuck to the seat unit).

I was going to try to re-stick it with Araldite Rapid but does anyone have any other suggestions/experience?

No experience but I would like to make a suggestion that I think might work well.
Friend of mine is a carpet fitter and uses this spray on glue for sticking down either carpet or carpet tiles when not using underlay and I reckon it'd do the job pretty well. It's very stringy and sticky when sprayed.

use a contact adhesive such as evo-stik. apply evostik to both parts and allow to dry (very important you allow it to dry) then put the foam pad under the grill, yes i said under the grill till the glue starts to bubble slightly then while hot stick to seat unit. give it a good old press to fix it down properly. the surface you are adhering to must be roughened up for it to work properly.

test a piece of the foam first to make sure that you dont get a reaction with the glue and the glue melts the foam.

once applied it will NEVER come off without a good old mess.

how do i know this? my first ever job was a cobbler lol.

or have a word with brelin he seems to have found a glue that worked on his tank pads

Cheers Bibio. That sounded so complicated that I'm utterly convinced it will work.

Picked up some contact adhesive earlier and put the seat pad back on tonight. I'll leave it alone for 24 hours and see how it goes.

That's why, for the sake of marital harmony, I used a heat gun in the garage instead of the kitchen grill.

There's a zero tolerance approach to stinking out the house these days ever since "The Paraffin Incident".

Mrs T doesn't like me putting bike bits in the dishwasher so, obviously, I do it when she's out. Usually it's the perfect crime but, if said parts have been left soaking in paraffin first, you won't get away with it. I had to pretend I couldn't smell it for a week.

There was a bit of an over-reaction to that one I thought. Although this was around the time I'd spilt a bit of brake fluid on the new oak dining table, so it was probably an accumulation thing.
