Default So you think you're experienced?

So, I was relatively proud of my ~15,000 social-riding motorbike miles in less than two years. Then I met a very humble chap called Ian. Who has done over 1.3 million miles.

Rough estimates and no. of years riding from y'all?

I thought this was going to be about something else at this time of night, apparently not, I'll move on.

I have not a clue how many miles I have done - I just concentrate on how much fun I have, couldn't care less about the mileage.. its the grin factor Im interested in..

Like they say its not the length/time of the ride its the fun you have doing the riding that counts

Naturally the longer it is the better though...

All I can say is that I spent 35 years doing continental and middle east haulage and that is a feckin lot of miles to do on a motorbike. I know that we got 800,000 miles out of trucks if you are lucky and I wore 4 out so if he got 75,000 out of a bike he wore 17 bikes out and didn't have any bad weather to contend with----lucky chap.

Probably about 100k on everything I've had in total.
I don't consider that makes me experienced as most of that is sat bored on a motorway or doing the same old route to and from somewhere.
can't afford to do big miles these days, no quick 200 mile spin round the dales of an evening... sigh.

Apparently some despatch riders would get 250K out of an XJ900 before it was dead, so not that many bikes.

Experience is a 'subjective'.

I've never taken a note of how many miles I've ridden. I've probably experienced more in seven years than someone else may do in an entire lifetime. Others may think not.
One thing....I ride safe, and stay sunny side up. Don't go out crashing every two minutes.
