Default The places to visit in Normandy thread.

As title, if you're coming along and have must see places in your mind please add them to the list.

I will collate them as best I can then plot them into areas and days and come up with some satnav routes.

This thread is purely for places to visit so any chit chat in the main thread please so I don't have to sift through toms of pages to get all the info.

I'll get the ball rolling...

All five of the beaches,
The american cemetery at Omaha
The british cemetery at gold ( think that's where it is)
The first house liberated by the canadians on Dday, now a cafe.

Off the top of my head, perhaps Point du hoc, and maybe Brécourt Manor?

Omaha beach and American Cememtry
Pegasus Bridge and Airbourne Museum
Bayeaux British Cemetry and brilliant museum opposite
Point du hoc
Arromanches 360 museum
Merville Battery
Juno Beach Memorial
Utah Beach Memorial

The cafe at the Canadian beach, is right opposite the campsite I stayed on when I went last time. That is just about bang in the middle of everything. There is not alot round there to be honest other than the Cafe and a gun placement.

hth.
