Just cut some plywood using your old pads as a stencil. It's not like anyone uses the rear brake anyway.

Simple rule of thumb: Bendix or CL for your front pads, regardless of cost. Plywood or Kingsmill for the rear, whatever's the cheapest way of stopping the piston(s) falling out and scraping the disc.

Just oil them if the squeak
![]() I can't understand anyone who would compromise on an item that involves their safety. I would want the best, even if I didn't regularly use the back brake, but knowing it is there if I need it is important in an emergency stop. |

I ordered mine from wemoto. I know i could have got them from ebay but buying stuff like this from ebay gave me the shudders. At least knowing what wemoto do, i felt the extra cost bought peace of mind.
Dont be cheap with your life!

I actually agree, failing that: ebay or I went to my local shop last time and got some Armstrong GG's for a negligible cost.

![]() Quote:
The back brake on a bike has two uses: a temporary parking brake while stationary, and steadying things up mid-corner. In an emergency it's completely useless, so don't worry about it.

As you wish but stopping with both front and rear gives a shorter stopping distance while still being 100% in control
Think about how a linked brake systems and ABS works.Grabbing a handful of front and no rear can result in a completely uncontrolled stoppie or a front end wash out.in slippery conditions as we have at this time of year or in the wet. If you don't believe me go and find a nice bit of dry [desolate]road and compare both stopping distances. |
