Default Time for a change?

After I come back from Scotland I will be looking for something smaller.I have been riding bikes for nearly 50 years but the old knees are playing up but I don't want to give up on two wheels yet so I am looking for something a bit lighter and comfortable.Current steed being a Sprint ST 955i which I have had for 8 years.
Went out today and looked at some scooters but the only thing that ticked the boxes for me was a Honda S-Wing and the 250cc bikes all had seats as hard as boards and bloody uncomfortable riding positions.------------So might orgers I am open to suggestions.
Criteria----comfortable--cruise at 60/70mph with a bit for overtaking still in it,top end 90ish --and as light as possible--easy to get on and off --economical 4t and in a budget of £4k---not necessarily new.

SO WHAT DO YOU SUGGEST?

Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Claims 169kg curb weight. Which is what the SV claimed unloaded. Only 33 PS.

If the legs are a bit of problem try a Piaggio MP3. Ok, it's a 3 wheeler, but you can get them in proper engine sizes, 250, 400 & 500cc! Biketrader seem to have a couple of 250s for the 2 grand mark at the moment.

Street Triple. Wet weight 189kgs. Early models are now on or about £4k. Seat height = 800mm but a lowering kit will take it down to 770mm. Surprisingly I'm finding 800mm ok due to the narrower seat.

Handles really well. Loads of low down torque... go for it, you know you want one.
