Default Roads to Brighton?

Hey guys, short notice, but I am off to Brighton to see my Uncle's gig tomorrow and wondered if anyone could recommend some roads? I am leaving from Waltham Abbey.

Cheers =)

Have you thought about a ride down to eastbourne and go via beachy head along the coast road to brighton
I go to eastbourne over the bridge head off jct 5 down the a21 towards hastings.
Take the turning off through royal tunbridge wells a26 ( via South borough a bit busy with traffic here). The keeping left at the mini roundabout go onto a267 until you meet a22 which then becomes dual carriage way into eastbourne. Go to the seafront pier and follow the coast road a259 right to brighton. Nice road without too many dual carriange ways and roundabouts.

I have to say I'm not a ride out professional but gets me to east sussex without too much stress

I have a preferred route which is nice a speedy.
Head down the a24 after breakfast at box hill and keep going until you get to the b2135 "steyning road" follow that until you hit the a27 quick 5min blast down there and your into brighton.

And for the ride home
Devils dyke and the north at the roundabout for the A281. Goes all the way to Horsham then back up the last little bit of a24.

Both roads are nice and twisty with bugger all traffic.
