These any good? looking at a 2001 cb400 would be a winter hack and is £500 to insure with no ncb as that's used on the other bike

gutless compared to the FZ1

Strong bikes, seem to do okay with winter. A friends NC31 superfour has held up quite well to her mileage and 2 year of abuse. Being pulled apart to my knowledge to sort it

edit: I'm a tit and but the wrong model code

Lol obviously it's gutless vs the fz it's 100bhp less yeh this is a super 4 , looking at bandits and sv's as well as there around the same insurance bandit is a bit more , sv's are looking a bit expensive to buy , bandits are dirt cheep and I can do the work that's needed on them ect and the cb looks nice for the cash lol ps budget is about £500 for the bike

You'll not get a CB400 for £500 thats running well

Try and get a bandit. How far you going?

Agreed, the only thing you'll get for £500 is a project bike, though £500 isn't going to get much of anything in a tidy state.

Leggy NVT650 maybe? Shaft drive and they go on forever just about.

75 miles a day don't get a revvy highly strung old thing.

Get a lazy old man bike, dullville, NTV, divvy/XJ900, BMW flying brick etc

I really like mine, for a big numb beast of burden you couldn't ask for better. Comfy, good presence, pulls from 20mph/1000rpm without a fuss, 60mpg, bombproof engine and final drive.

When this one dies I'm thinking a K100 to replace it.
