Default Racing colour schemes from factory?

Right heres the story, I was fortunate enough to pick up a 2001 sv650s in the alstare corona colours over the easter weekend for the mrs, I myself ride a triumph speed four but I thought the SV would be ideal for her to get her wings and when I got wind of this little beauty going cheap I couldnt resist.

Ive been fettling with her a bit this evening and it got me thinking, was the Corona colour scheme an official colour? or is it an aftermarket modification?

Are there any other race rep colours, ive been so impressed with it I might even buy myself one if I can sell the speed four. Can anyone share some history on the race rep colour schemes?

Welcome .

As far as i know its aftermarket. I dont think they did any race rep schemes as standard, although i may yet be proven wrong by a more knowledgable person (:

Yeah I would imagine it is a Dream machine job as im familiar with what they do for the GSXR's, im just wondering how easy it would be to find a Rizla suzuki one or another scheme if there are any out there or have I got lucky?

Do they come up for sale often?

Im usually browsing ebay when i have spare time, and its usually sv things lol. I reckon iv seen less than a hand full in the last year n a half or something.

Unless its just the same one being resold and yours is the only one to exist, ever? haha

No, there were no official race rep colour schemes on the SV.

Firstly How doo!

All the race-rep paint jobs are aftermarket (and of varying qualities). I've seen alstare and Rizla curvys (rizlas were ubber rattle can jobs).

There is one official race rep now: its a Gladius with the Heron Texaco colours but there is only about 500 being made (£6,399). Looks decent too, but the gladius is a little bit ghey

If you want a race rep get one sprayed up, a really good sprayer will be able to do it but expect about a £600 bill

Thanks, heres a sneaky preview then everyone:

She needs a bit of work, previous owner was a member here I think as I had paperwork with the clubs details on it, so someone may know the bike. It hasnt had alot of use over the last year, only 200 miles between MOT's so my first priorities are to do the wheel bearings and brakes really, both seemed a bit sloppy but she ran ok considering.

A quick question, if u look at the photo, the black infil panel below the seat between subframe and rear pillion pegs, is there suppose to be one on both sides or just on the right?

Would u expect to pay 600 for spraying and decal application or purely the paint job? Im tempted to get one myself now and tart it up!
