Datatool system problem.

So my alarm immobilised my bike and the fobs won't disarm it, rang datatool and they said 'de spiking' it would sort it. Well it didn't so that thing is coming out!!

Make sure you inform your insurance if it has been declared.

If I do remove it I shall but for now it can stay there

There's a bit in the Datatool System 3 manual about getting the fob working again after the system has gone into sleep mode and won't wake up. You hold the system (round) button down (Maximum 15 seconds) whilst turning on the ignition until you hear it beep. Have you tried this? It happened on mine when the battery completely drained during the snow. I had to try with a fully charged battery for two or three times and then it worked. Assume as you spoke to Datatool that you also checked the remote batteries and the fuse. If you have a different model of immobiliser then the above may not apply

I had a similar issue last month.

The user guide gave specific troubleshooting steps to follow if the alarm doesn't disarm:

- check alarm fuse
- check you're within range (10m max)
- check ignition is in OFF position
- check transmitter battery
- check that the transmitter signal is correctly aligned with the control unit by pressing the O and Triangle buttons simultaneously for 5 secs

Step 5 worked for me!!!

It appeared some sort of interference caused the control unit and the fob to be out of sync.
