Hi All,
I have a 2009 pointy and with the miles i do (37000 in 3 years) i need to be more comfortable. I have been thinking of either changing to a Vstrom or putting on Bar risers. Has anyone done this? if yes how does it affect the screen? how much does it alter the riding position? anyone who has done this - what are your thoughts? thanks Debs |

Then you'll need a top yoke conversion or buy some higher rise clip ons.
Top yoke conversion from here http://www.topyokes.com/ Should have them in stock, but I like others have waited too long for the kit to be delivered. You should get everything you need to do the job. Or try and find a naked pointy top yoke on Ebay and do it yourself. You'll need longer brake lines and possibly throttle & clutch cables. Or do what I did and get some Gillies Vario Bars, keeps the clip on look, but improves the comfort no end. You can get different height risers to suit you and the permutations on position are huge. http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race....0_655_660.html Both options aren't cheap, you've more chance of finding 2nd hand Gilles bars on Ebay, but you'll need to buy the clamps to suit the SV forks which are 41mm dia, as most seem to be 50mm clamps for USD forks. There are other versions of the adjustable clip ons & there are other fixed height riser clip ons which will also help improve your comfort. But Gilles are fab quality and adjustable, plus spares are easily available

As soon as I get a standard yoke, I`ll be taking my matt yokes yoke off as I use clippons.
It was good the one time I fitted the renthals, but I wasn't convinced of the look, just looked a bit wrong to me. Although I ride daily I only cover about 1500 miles a year now, so don't suffer bad wrists etc. Lee |
