SV650 speedo sensor?
Hi Guys,
Does anyone know if a newer gen speedo sensor say from an '06 would fit a '99 Curvy? Looking at listing and images, there seems to be no difference between the two? Thanks. |

I'm probably not best qualified to answer this one, but as no one else is helping I'll tell you what I believe to be true and hopefully someone else will confirm it. As far as I know the difference is the number of magnetic pulses per revolution - four pulses on the curvy and six on the pointy. So in short I don't think you can interchange them.

To clarify, you do mean the sensor and wiring with connector rather than the rotor (made from 100% cruddite) 4 pulse which I don't have !!
Franco's Motorbikes sell them for £25 inc postage.

Yeah the actually sensor with wire and connector, I already have a new rotor.
Franco's don't seem to be listing the actual sensor. I have found from here and other sources that it needs to be a 99-02 sensor because of the magnet layout difference. Thanks for that guys. There are brand new parts listed in the US for like £90 plus postage. Bit too much! If anyone does have a spare 99-02 speedo sensor, it would be great if I could buy it from you. Thank you. |

£30-35 tops. Should be a few out there as they're reasonably robust (though not in your case d'oh).

The pickup housing is the same, but the rotor is different.
