Ok, I now have my shiny blue SV K3 and she's just lovely, I just need to get my licence sorted!
I expect the subject has been done to death so apologies up front. Now I'm a short-****, measuring 5.2" with a damn short inside leg, somewhere around 27 inch I think. I've got the longer links on the SV but I'm still having trouble touching the ground comfortably and have seen the lower seat on the Suzuki site for £28 (http://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/partdetail.asp?id=208&m=24), is this better than removing the stuffing from the current seat? I'm trying to avoid changing too much on the SV as I don't want to play too much with the handling. |

that link says suitable for K4, and something rings a bell that they're different to K3?? may be totally wrong on that.
It says only 10mm lower than std, which although £28 is pretty cheap, it's not much of a gain. It'd cost more than that to have one lowered professionally. I lowered my SK1 seat pad myself, took about 25mm out in the middle of a curve front to back. The seat covers are simply stapled on to the plastic base, and if you have a sturdy staple gun (Arrow etc) and are handy with DIY, it's a "do-able" job. If it all goes pear-shaped, just get a Suzy one for £28. ![]() |

The k3 and k4 seats are different, much to my annoyance, since I'd like a gel seat for my k4.
On the suzuki site they have the sv1000s k3 lower seat, does anybody know if that's the same as a k3 650s? Otherwise your best bet is either eBay or do it yourself. |

I got an inch and a half taken out of my standard seat. Since I've pulled a couple of 200+ trips with only a single short break and not got a numb bum from it.
I also found it improved my riding position as you are more tucked into the bike without having to crouch over. I guess it doesn't affect the handling at all, but it 'feels' more responsive. I'm 5'4" with a 29" inside leg (though 28.5" on the left one!). |

The Corbin seat for SV's is alot shorter, as well as more comfy.

All K4 and the K3 1000 Naked have the same seat, K3 650 faired and naked and K3 1000S have the same seat.
