Id take the opportunity to have a change for a while, iv always got the collateral of the new bike i get if i want to buy an SV again.

I dont think i could go straight back anyway, due to the amount of mods that have gone in, if it was written off and everything was lost, even if i got paid for the mods too, i couldnt look at a standard SV in my garden...

Good idea for a thread Keith!

Personally I would take the opportunity to change, I love my SV and I dont think buying another one would replace it, so I would move onto something else... what to however, would be down to lots of testrides!

As much as I love it, I want something with better brakes and suspension

At the moment, next bike of choice is an Aprillia RSV-R Mille or a later "pointy" Mille the factory version

cheers

i was thinking this cos my bike is parked beneath a couple of extremely heavy pallets and would do no end of damage if they fell. probably write the beast off.

i'm thinking the same as you. i love it to bits, but i'd always be comparing the old with the new, and i'm sure i'd never be 100% satisfied.

if i could convince my insurers that my bike was valued at 8 grand i'd have a little look at an aprilla RSV R or factory.....

I don't think I'd replace with another SV. I would probably be considering selling the SV now if I thought it was worth enough to make it worth it. Since it's not I am going to keep the poor thing till she literally falls apart. In the meantime I plan to do quite a bit to her. She'll probably end up as just a trackday type toy.
