Default sv650 cheap face lift

Hey folks, I have a pretty much standard 99 SV650S.

The only thing that is none standard is the motrax minifairing indicators on it from its previous owner.

I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about quick cheap little things I can do to help it look a little less aged and prettier overall. The minifairing has a scratch on the left hand side which was easily filled with a bit of filler and i'm thinking of doing some respraying, how much more effort will it take to have a none standard paintjob?

Also can the engine and the bottom of the forks be painted at all and if so what kind of paint would be ok to use?

Many thanks
Jonny

I used Halford's black engine paint which was an excellent match. Painted the forks with a can of spray paint and clear lacquer, both from Halford's too. I used matt black, looks good. BigApe did a thread when he did his. You'll find it using the search function. I just copied him really. 'Cept he used satin black, I think. You could also polish them, which would help spruce them up. You could also paint the brake discs if they're starting to flake. I was going to do that, but abandoned the idea when I got waveys

Dunno about resprays myself (got a pro to do mine) but the first thing I'd do is tidy up the rear end.

It's not as bad on the curvys as on the later pointy models, but getting rid of the that snowplough on the back makes them both alot sleeker.

Grabrail removal and a single seat cowl too. Both very easy (hell, even I managed them, along with fitting a new tail end) and if you are considering a respray you should be able to pick up the parts need fairly cheaply as you don't need to worry to much about condition and colour match.
