Default Jersey - car or cycle

I'm off to Jersey for a week later this month and would like a bit of advice re local transport. Is it worth hiring a car when everything looks pretty much within walking if not cycling distance? If anyone's got any experience I'd love to hear.

Thanks.

I went there about 10 years ago and hired a bike. I got round most of the island in a day - it's not a big place. And you see so much more on a bike.

Dont bother with a car. My mum and dad go now and again to visit friends. Theres a bus that goes right round the island thats cheap and is hop on and off anywhere you like. Failing that a pushbike.

Dont bother with a car, Mum and Dad say that finding somewhere to park is a nightmare. They also said that alot of people use 50cc twist and go scooters to get about on. So maybe you could hire one of those ?

Hire a car for a few days (depends where you are staying) unless you are a keen cyclist - it is a bit hilly in places!

Must sees are the zoo and the underground hospital.

It's been a while since I've been to the channel islands. We definitely hired bikes in Guernsey, but I think that we just used public transportation solutions (busses!) in Jersey. It wasn't necessary to hire a car on either.

Thanks guys, had a feeling a car might be a bit of overkill especially if the weather is good. Hoping to make a couple of daytrips to other islands as well.

Twist and go for a day round the island and then bus

Wierd parking as you buy a book of tickets which you scratch off but all the parking places seemed to have different times per ticket

If you have a car smaller the better

Jersey is a great place to go and visit we used to go every summer as kids.. I would suggest a little scooter or bus you will be able to get around easier then a car.

Have a fantastic holiday.
