no reason why not, max you will have to change the connectors as some of the curveys have two plugs vs one etc..

Only if the curvey is an early one as the later ones had a single connector.

more reg-rec woes

my friend bought a pointy reg-rec for her curvy & it doesn't fit

sizes - curvy reg-rec on left, ebay reg-rec on right:

http://eeyore.mu-dog.net/pics/reg-rec/reg-rec_001.jpg

are they meant to be different sizes?

connectors - curvy reg-rec on left, ebay reg-rec on right:

http://eeyore.mu-dog.net/pics/reg-rec/reg-rec_002.jpg

they are rather different

also, the number of wires is different:

curvy 3-pin male has 3 wires; 3-pin female has two wires

ebay 4-pin male has 4 wires; 3-pin male has 3 wires

ebay reg-rec has part numbers "RS41 16G0" & "60 3C 28"

anyone got any bright ideas? is the ebay reg-rec even off an SV?

many thanks

Looks like its a 6/7 wire regulator. Do not connect this to the SV unless you know which wire is the voltage sense wire, i dont know what would happen if you did.

Its possable to fit but you would need to know the pin out of the 4pin connector.

Looks like its possable from a Honda or its for certian bikes that have two pairs of outputs from the regulator.

Mabey better to take up issue with ebay seller.

hi TSM,

thanks for the response

a quick google on the part numer brings up this:

http://www.cheshiremotorcyclesalvage...FIERS_504.html

which seems to suggest that it might be off a thou

I'll check with the seller - it may just be a genuine mistake

May well be, i looked at the parts fiche for a SV1000 and it shows 7 wires.

As i said in last post some regulators have two output, one to the battery and the other to the main stuff on the bike.
