Default Recycling Christmas cards

It seems such a waste to me to give out cards for them only to be thrown away a few days later. Poor environment!!

So this year I am giving my cards out blank ... and telling the recipient to keep it until next year and then send it to someone else (still unsigned). This way people can tell I love them, yet the cards won't simply get thrown away (hopefully)

Who thinks this is a good idea and now I have said it think they will do the same??

I am going to go hug a tree and feel good about myself now!!

Goddamn tree hugging hippy. I love you!

What a great idea I recycle so much paper after xmas its a joke. My best mate and i have had a tradition for years now where we give each other last years cards with the names crossed out and reversed. If that makes sense.
not out of any environmental reasons tbh but just cos its a laugh

It'd be great if your idea caught on, from family to family etc. Inyears to come the card companies would be broke cos we all have at least one card each that we cant ever get rid of serves them right too.

When I read the title I thought you were on about putting them in the recycle thing at tesco
But that is such a good idea. What is it they say....the best idea is always the simplest.....
You could always put a slip of paper inside saying To and From etc and explaining your idea

I stopped sending them years ago. I give everyone a phone call instead, if possible.
I still get people whinging... 'didn't get your card this year'.... FFS

There was a guy in my work a few years ago who sent a card out with a circulation slip that we each had to sign to say we had read it and pass it on.

But he was just a tight *******

The beauty of this is that no one can accuse me of being tight ... but they are accusing me of being lazy ...

Handed out 30 cards at work today ... I knew someone would ... and 4 people have ... yep ... they just filled in my card and gave it back to me!! ... now if only they had actually listened to what I said and gave it back blank ... that way it would have been recycled again and I could have given it out to somone else!!

So I wasn't classed as lazy I was thinking of just writing in them "This card is an ultimate recycled card ... first Issued in 2006"

It'd be cool to see it still floating around in say 2012

I think it's a great idea, if only it would work.

Why would it not work?!!? :P

I tell you what, I moved into my current house, what 8 years ago?? ... and I STILL get Christmas cards for the previous owner come through my letterbox every year ... I mean they blatantly haven't spoken to each other for 8+ years, why still send cards??? I wonder how many cards are wasted every year in this manner?
