i just fitted an r6 throttle tube to my curvy. it had made an impressive difference but when i let go of the throttle it doesnt return. is it just a case of adjustment or do i need to modify anything. i have adjusted the throttle cables from the grip side but it didnt make any difference and it also failed its mot today due to it. thanks
also on the r6 throttle tube it had a big plastic washer between the rubber grip and the bit where the cables join on to, where does the washer go - inside the right hand side control? or should i cut it off. cheers |

presuming you put everything together correctly, its just an adjustment issue, quite common. Slacken the adjuster at the throttle housing right off, so much so you have some 'slop' in the first part of the throttle movement. If it snaps back correctly then, then just tighten back up until just before the point it struggles.
Washer isn't necessary, cut it off if you like ... but I placed mine on the outside ... |

i had to fiddle with the adjustment at the carbs. one of the nusthad to be placed the other side of the housing for it to work properly. it returns fine, revs fine, but it haasnt been run on the road yet, so not quite sure how well it works.

yup it jut needs adjustment at the carb ed..
1. make sure u get full open at the carb end when full throttle and 2 adjust the return cable accordingly so it snaps back.. 10 min job |

Just pack some grease into it that should free it.

if wyou watch the action of the throttle on the carbs, you should see the arm hit against an end which is fully open. and thus, when released, you should see it go back to its housing.

you need to raise your petrol tank take off the air box. then you will see the rocker that opens and closes the card.. usually a gold colour thingy.... has a stop on either end.. if you open the throttle and it hasnt hit the stop then your full throttle isnt actually full.. ! you will see the adjusters there too.. apologies if u know all this.. pm me if u need me nip the shed and scan the Haynes for this section.. cos.. as this site has been so good to me in the past I think its nice to pay it forward and help others. |
