Default Crash Bungs

I was having a look at the Suzuki website for Accessories.

I noticed they now supply Crash Bungs for my K4 with lower fairings for about 38 quid. I seem to remember ages ago they used to supply a fitting kit separatlely which was about 60 quid alone but not anymore.

Does anyone have any experience with these and are they any good.

I 'm having trouble sourcing some R&G's to fit my bike with lower fairings.

Suzuki crash bungs are sh*te don't bother. The brackets are made of cheese and bend if the bikes dropped which causes more damage than would have happened if they were not on the bike.

You can buy the bungs from R & G directbut if you get your local Suzuki dealer to order them in for you you can avoid paying the postage, like I did !!

Not only did I avoid P&P by getting the suzuki dealer to order them, I also paid less than R&G want for them.

£65, dealer didn't have them in, and ordered them. Not a problem. R&G website says £76.

Depends where they are mounted. All the best bungs mount directly into the engine mounts, this is what you want. The ones in the link look like they do but you can't see for the fairing. Any bungs mounting to any bracketry are usually much weaker and can bend into the frame or engine causing more damage than just scraping the fairing would.

The link says:

NO MODIFICATION REQUIRED SIMPLY REMOVE THE GENUINE SPACER AND REPLACE WITH THE BOBBINS 2/3 MINS
if they mount to the banana bracket thingy then they will be next to useless. I didn't have fairings on mine, any faired bike owners shed some light on this?
