anyone use the A1?

apparently theres a huge section where it is now illegal for lorries to move outside the inside lane! ace! always was the worst part of that road. I've not been on it for a while -has anyone noticed the difference?

I used it a lot when I was living down south, but now I only use it once every 3 months or so for visits.... hang on a second, what part of the A1 are we talking about???

Ah I think I know the bit you mean, the 2 laned bit between York and Durham with the line of trees dividing the two carriageways IIRC? That thing was a bloody nightmare, thank god they've got it sorted.

yeah i'd be keen to hear how much better it is. I used to hate that section with a passion, regardless of the time you were on it there would be lorries taking up both lanes at 55

Is it permanent? The bit I saw only restricted them at certain times of the day. It should be done on the A14 leading to the M11, they try and overtake each other on the uphill sections neither giving an inch and both gradualy loosing speed

Great idea...

It's rubbish - it's only a short section in reality and there's no cops actually enforcing it in my experience - it's a 'Journey Time Trial' according to the signs, which implies it's only temporary.
