I have now joined the Soho Crash Club.
I'm fine; no twinges, no pain, no bruises, nothing broken. No marks to the leathers either. On my ride back from Soho last night I crashed, about 3 miles from home. Unbeknown to me one of the roads has been prepared for reserfacing, and so was covered with loose gravel. I throttled off before hand, and as I entered the gravel part, the bike and controls went light, I made the mistake of looking at the verge, and the bike went that way. I dropped the bike on its left side onto the grass verge. Asessing the bike this morning, the damage is minimal. Scuff to the mudguard and fork, very minor marks to the corner of the fairing, scuffs to the clutch case, front indicator broke off, and gear selector sheared off. The crash bungs (both on the frame & swingarm) did their job. Looks like I can refit the indicator. Now in the market for a pointy gear selector if anyone has one.............. It could have been so much worse, but it was not, and I'm ok. The bike can be repared. I'm not upset about damaging the bike; that is the risk I take when I ride. Looks the 'Bear hug' did not work its magic last night ![]() |

Sorry to hear of your off zedleppelin1981.
![]() and the damage to bike is cosmetic. I was at Soho on Friday but left early (around 8:30). Not sure we were introduced. I have a spare left mirror with a slightly scratched casing (the scratch could probably be painted over), if you need one. |
