Default Knee Down.. Again!

Sorry to bring it up for yet another time..

Just been out trying to get my knee down for the first time. I've watched the vids and read about how to do it BUT i'm still not getting it!

My leg doesn't seem to bend that far and find it hard to be totally in control of the bike as i'm leaning off. I've got my opposite leg locked into the tank, one **** cheek off the seat and looking round the side of the screen but can't quite get the right position, i'm sure i'm leaning it far enough..

Any other tips/advice?

Just a thought, but why not find a nice empty bit of road and just hang off the bike untill you find a position where you feel stable and in control.
If you don't feel in control, are you putting weight on your hands and messing up your steering inputs?

All IMO, knee down is not something I have tried

hang off further, so it feels ridiculous and you think you look stupid, when you do touch down you'll have some idea of the lean angle and how near the tarmac is to your slider the comfortable body positioning will come.

Yep, too much weight on my hands and the bike is moving around. I think it's got to be down to body position. More practice needed probably.

KwakZZR, your dead right, I did feel a bit silly and was getting some funny looks from drivers. Trying to find a nice big smooth roundabout thats quiet is not easy! I know one that is new and perfect but it's always very busy..

Hey Nick 4, try to get more corner speed and lean over more, the one thing I noticed with your otherwise very good riding is that I almost crash into the back of you in bends! You really slam on the anchors (or else my brakes are bad ). I think you need to go faster and lean more to start with, you are probably hanging off enough already. On the rideout with Stu in the lead, I was shocked at how little I was leaning over compared to how far it can really go. Hope that helps and I am not just being a condescending b*st*rd.

I dont actually think you want a big roundabout, on small to medium ones you can get you knee down at a slower speed. I reckon do a track day, i had been trying for ages on the road and then did a track day and got sliding without even trying.
