Clunk's thump
Had a muppet moment today, turned a little sour. I went to get a new rear tyre on the SV, as I had a slow puncture. new tyre on, no problems, paid for it and pulled out of the garage.
Turning right onto the main road I had a gap, plenty of space, but not massive so pulled out and throttled on a little hard in a moment of not thinking. Wouldn't be a problem for the tyre, but forgot very briefly about the bedding in period. New tyre got away from me and dumped my @rse on the black stuff in short order. Bike slid round 3/4 turn. Scratched the can, and bashed the front right indicator, but otherwise everything is OK. |

Re: Clunk's thump
That's crap
So easy to forget though albeit this year when I put new pr3 trails on my explorer I'd got rid of chicken strips within 60 miles and I'm a slow rider by most peoples standards. |

Unlucky Clunk, at least you admit your mistakes. Could have been worse etc. I must admit I'm surprised it gave way, it was dry today and you weren't leaning it. Sounds a bit unusual to me.

Re: Clunk's thump
I was leaning, I was turning right. Just a little throttle happy and rotated about the wrong axis.
Yeah, another indicator. Luckily I haven't put my new set on, so I've just collected the full set. |

Ouch. Just be content with the knowledge that you're never going to do it again.

Re: Clunk's thump
I'm content the the pretty cheap lesson, yes. but never say never. I was nervous riding home after that though.
