Default Have you fitted a fog light?

I know it sounds terribly boring and fuddy duddy but I was commuting home through the light fog tonight and came up on another bike and bloody hell, his light was like a candle, really really hard to see him. I thought 'mine must be better than that' but when I got home I strolled back 20yds from my bike and it's crap!!

I feel really exposed now, am off to eBay to look for small fog lights. Have any of you fitted one?

It's the back I'm worried about, it's woeful at the moment (brand new bike). Seeing as they've been compulsory on cars since '84 or so, it must be a good idea to have something on the bike. This bike was really hard to see tonight. I guess if you've got a design with two rear bulbs, you could switch the brake light on one of them to come on permanently when you wanted.

Which would leave you without a brake light - not a bright idea........

If it was a good idea I believe it would be mandated in law and fitted as standard.

Cant think of a reason for not doing it, but I am sure that its been thought of before now.

Ah I see

you could maybe fit one under the grab rail? Or bung some red LEDs on the number plate hanger ?

I meant one bulb in a two bulb setup, leaving the other as a brake light. Like on a GPZ et al.

Go to www.ultraleds.co.uk and look a the waterproof led strips. Flexible and can be wired direct into your rear led lights.

Tis a good idea, the A303 was really fog bound this evening. I just found a car with its fog lights on that was doing the same sort of speed as me I over took it and then kept and eye on it in my rear mirror and kept to roughly the same speed as the car was, leaving enough room so that the car could stop without hitting me if I had to stop...
