97,000 miles ?
Just been to my local dealers for some bits n pieces for me sv when a part exchange came in a 53 plate fz6 fazer the one with the under seat exhausts it had done just over 97,000 miles i had a good look around the bike having had one of these myself and it looks remarkable in very good condtion engine still sounded sweet the guy had part ex it for a new R6 and the dealer had given him a grand for the fazer i was in two minds to make them a offer for it as i know they wont put it in the showroom and would want rid of it quickly and would be ideal for me as just a bad weather commuter bike to and from work ,the bike has no service history but is moted till jan 09 it must have been a couriers bike with that type of mileage so would you touch a bike with that type of mileage and whats the highest mileage bikes you have owned or seen ta

Re: 97,000 miles ?
Rictus probably has the record with 150k + on an SV.
I'd have it if it was cheap.

Jambo P.S: In terms of other bikes (non-SV) I've read of couriers racking up over 750,000 on a VFR or Blackbird.

Re: 97,000 miles ?
If its well looked after and in good nick then the 97,000 miles shouldn't be an issue if you get it cheap.
The 750 has 98,723 miles on her (2 engines but same internal components since 2000 or 9,273 miles). The 650 has 16,051 miles (one engine) |

Re: 97,000 miles ?
I'd go back there in a couple of weeks to see how much milage they have taken off the bike! Don't laugh, it happens. If the bike is in fiar condtion, im sure they could get at elast 2k with say 35000 on the clock!!
I have seen a blackbird with over 300k on the clock at boxhill. It wasnt pretty, but the engine was still good. |

Re: 97,000 miles ?
i know its not a bike but our old peugeot 405 turbo diesel estate has 657000 miles on it... it used to get used alot but not so much anymore, still pulls like a train (for a car) and does 45-50mpg

Re: 97,000 miles ?
Until a couple of years ago I owned a 1983 Honda CB250RS single that had clocked up 192,000 miles. I gave it away to a mate who was desperate for a bike.
