How can I make my pointy more comfortable for town work?
I'm getting tired of being bounced around. It makes even my short journey a pain because I feel every pothole and bump. The drive chain lash is also starting to grate. What can I do to make it more comfortable?

Re: How can I make my pointy more comfortable for town work?
does drive chain lash occur when the chain is a little bit slack?
I've heard alot of people talk about clip-on bars which are a bit higher and are more comfy. Extra padding in the seat (additional foam or gel maybe?) could be another small but efficient way of improving comfort. Erm apart from that I'm rubbish. Failing that, buy a honda cbf600 s... really comfy :P (and I happen to have one for sale)

Hmm, none of the above are what I had in mind!
I meant carb balancing, TPS, suspension, chain adjustment etc... |

Lash?
Use the clutch more. Lube or buy a new cable. Ride faster. |

EDIT: Sorry, Crap reply. If you are struggling with suspension, get yourself a ZX6-R suspension 2005 models i think you can put in them and they can be found knocking about cheapish. Replace your fork oil and seals etc, will make things a bit smoother. Chain adjustment, easily done by yourself. Carb balancing, I think you need to get the correct gauge for it to do it but by looks of things, isn't too hard to do, I need to do mine soon, they really need draining, it may stop my horrible spluttering problems. I really should just take some of my own advice TBH. HTH Last edited by plowsie; 11-06-08 at 09:45 AM. |
