Default Volt regulator?

Had a breakdown yesterday and the nice mr rac man said the bike was not charging the battery. Has anyone had this problem before and any idea of how hard and how costly?
Cheers

It'll probably be a new alternator coil or rectifier you need, both are easy to check using a multi-meter and a manual.

You have these?

Could be as simple as a loose connection. Let's hope so.

The problem is the Volt Reguglator, rectifier.
Apparently a common problem on the K7 GSXR with mileage over 20k from looking on forums.
However, on the forums they also say that it will be a recurring problem ?
Has anyone heard of this ?
Cheers

Just get another if it's died. Should be plenty of pattern ones out there if you don't want to cough for OE.

Edit: Lot of gumph on Forums, IF it's a common prob on over 20k Gixer whatevers then maybe it's a recurring problem if you do your shopping at breaker's...

(I know nothing)

It might be worth seeing if one for another bike is known to fit and be more reliable.

A common problem? I would have thought there was already a commonly found solution to over come this? There normally is.

You can apparently according to rumours out a K4 or 5 one on there but then i cannot find out if this works?
You can look at moving it away from the engine but i don't think that would work either.
might try the first one
I have noticed that since my bike has gone wrong the weather has been great maybe i should just leave it till after the summer to fix and get another bike?

That's a great idea Jerry, you can pop down for a brew then.
