Chain & Sprockets Decisions
Going to purchase a new chain and sprockets next week, currently running 14f - 44r. I do like the way the bike rides over standard gearing, especially in corners but it revs a bit more on the straights.
So thinking of going down the path of 15f - 47r as this is similar to current setup but was wondering if anyone has tried 15f - 46r compared with 15f - 47r, if so whats the differences or views on this. Cheers |

Re: Chain & Sprockets Decisions
15-47 will ride pretty much the same as 14-44. Only difference with 15-47 is that you will definately need a bigger chain as both sprockets are larger in diameter. So you wont notice a difference in speed/acceleration etc but will in handling as the wheelbase will be lengthened. But on the other hand you will get a bit more chain life out of a 15-47 compared to a 14-44 as the turn in the chain will be smoother.
If you want it a little less revvy go for a 14-45 or a 15-46. HTH |
