Default Appointing a solicitor after crash?

Hi all,

My dad was broughed sided by a women at the weekend, his right of way she was looking for a parking space and "didn't see him", so his pearl white Goldwing with may I add lots of lights everywhere is now buggered, he has fractured ribs, dodgy hip, whip lash in the neck and back, his foot is hurting and his chin was deeply cut (pic below) he's a professional heavy goods driver and has been told not to drive or ride for min 2 weeks, so loss of earnings as well.

Now I want to know can he appoint a solicistor of his choosing and the legal cover pay the fees or does he have to use the insurance appointed one, because he was knocked off 2 years ago by a taxi and was appointed a solicitor by the insurance company and it worked out as the taxi was insured by the same people they were claiming damages off each other so he gor peanuts.

He can appoint who he wants he just needs to inform the insurers.

I have had a couple of friends use Sorrymate and they recommend them very highly.

I was appointed one by my insurers and ended up having to do their job for them, and that I had no chance of winning anything, so I changed to While Dalton who got me 100%. Not that they are the only good ones out there, but don't settle for a 'bulk buy' firm.

www.sorrymate.com

Isn't that what these guys do? Can't talk from experience but seen the sponsorship of the BSB team by this company.

Thay look just like any other solicitor firm on their site. If it ever happens again to me I'd be looking for a bike specific firm though, no matter how straight forward it all looks at first.
