Soft cream cheese screws on the SV
Soft cream cheese screws on the SV
Need a little help here please from an owner of a 2003 on sv650 s the crosshead screws that hold the throttle body and switchgear on the handlebars are all soft as poo. I know as I have just removed them . I will be replacing them all with nice new shiny stainless steel socket caps. I just need to know how many are on your SV650s bike and what the lengths are. Just measure the length of the shank NOT the head of the screw. There are 6 in total on the SV1000s, 2 on the left switch and 4 on the right handle bar switch and throttle enclosure. 1 at 20mm 2 at 25mm 3 at 45mm I will send out free replacements to the first to come up with the measurements. I am sure that the naked is different but if someone could have a look at this for me same deal. |

Hmm,
Throttle assembly are defo 2x 20mm shank only Left hand cluster looks like 1x 20mm & 1x 35mm (only a guess - I'm at work, can't access screws due to fairing) Right hand cluster are 2x 40mm (could be 35mm tho' - same prob as above!) What was that song? 'One out of three ain't bad' ?!

I do need an exact answer so I can order the correct amount of each size. I like to be able to put back the same length if possible. I will be ordering a new batch of bolts at the end of the week and will add these into the order. I am sure I can put a little kit together for about £2 max. I will be changing mine but if I can sort your bikes out at the same time bonus for you. |
