Default Recommend me some office printing/scanning technology!

It's been ages since I've done a recommend me thread but I've come to you guys as I can't find any decent review sites for office printers and scanners, only home stuff.

I need:

An A3 scanner.
An A4 printer, possibly 2

The scanner needs to be good quality as it will be for transferring important documents onto our server for secure storage, enabling us to destroy the original documents. It will also need to be fairly robust as I have plebs working in the office!

The printer needs to be of reasonable quality and for mainly text printing but needs to have reasonably low running costs.

I would like recommendations for colour and black and white printers as I may well get our invoices and job cards printed externally so that I only need to print the black and white details rather than the whole colour invoice.

Thanks in advance

Go here

http://www.printerbase.co.uk/mfpprin...&submit=Search

Get the possibilities for your setup - I would go for Brother Multi-Function devices - inkjet or laser based on what your budget and requirements are.

Personally, for your A3 Scanner I would get this

http://www.printerbase.co.uk/acatalo...tifunction.php

Actually I would get 2 of those at that price - the Duplex scanning can be useful if you want to get both sides of a letter/bill for example, and being wireless you can site them anywhere and anyone can print and scan from them.

If I had a spare £300 I would get one for home.

I have used Printerbase before - ring them and chat, they give good advice, and will mail-bomb you from time to time with dicount codes for ink.

It was a brother printer/scanner/fax I got from them for work, and at my new job we also have a Brother MFC and as said, they are easy to use.

There you go

Personally I think Ricoh projects are very good at this scale (and at larger scales until they stopped). Expensive though.

Is a commercial A3 MFD too far out the price remit?
Most have got scanner beds as good as the stand alone scanners.

If your going the paperless route, scanners you want to looking at things like

Were only a small company and these items are for a small office so I feel a full on commercial A3 MFP may be cost prohibitive.

I don't need to be able to print onto A3 as if I ever needed to print onto A3, I could do so on the photocopier in another part of the building (it's connected to our network), I just need to scan A3 documents, hence looking for a stand alone scanner. I would then be looking for 1 or 2 printers with very low running costs.

I don't really have a budget for these as such, but I don't want to be mortgaging the building! I would guess that £250 for a very good quality and fairly robust A3 scanner (I have ham fisted eejits working for me) would be acceptable and probably £200-£250 a piece for the A4 printers (laser mono's or inkjet colours, depending on which avenue I decide to take).

Regards
Phil
